Gas springs make use of the simple fact that gas pressure creates a force that is proportional to the surface area on which it makes contact.
This means, the piston rod in the gas spring is used as a spring element. A gas spring will also generate a much greater force, and longer stroke, than an equivalent mechanical spring.What is more, in many cases Life Cycle Costs are considerably
lower than those for conventional springs. Since the Nitrogen gas pressure can be easily checked and regulated, in many respects, gas springs are far superior to other types of spring.
